Urban Fitouts recently undertook an innovative project at Level 2, 520 Wickham Street, tasked with designing, building, and furnishing the new headquarters for Smarter Communities. This commercial office project stood out for its unique challenge: to repurpose and integrate an existing fit-out into a refreshed and modern workspace.

The goal was to transform the pre-fitted tenancy into a vibrant and efficient headquarters for Smarter Communities, while retaining much of the existing layout. This approach not only required creative design planning but also a keen understanding of how to merge the old with the new seamlessly.

Key design features of the project included the installation of an artificial green wall and suspended greenery, adding a dynamic and natural element to the office space. These features were instrumental in creating a bright and light atmosphere, essential for a productive and positive work environment. Additionally, custom signage was incorporated, personalising the space and anchoring it in its local context. The overall styling was focused on achieving a fresh and modern look, in line with the client’s vision for their headquarters.

One of the unique aspects of this project was the challenge of reusing the existing fit-out and furniture. This required a careful balance between new styling and functionality, ensuring that the new design elements complemented the existing ones. The successful integration of these components not only met the client’s needs but also demonstrated Urban Fitouts’ ability to adapt and reimagine spaces sustainably and cost-effectively.
