Transport House

A fusion of cosmopolitan flair and corporate simplicity for Fortitude Valley’s Transport House.

Situated at the Fortitude Valley train station, this 480-square-metre residence is one of three tenancies at Transport House. Urban worked with the building owner to draw on the surrounding metropolitan culture, balancing ease and aesthetics at every stage of the process.

The moody palette provided a simple backdrop for the custom graffiti artwork, copper piping and feature lighting. Exposed ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows created a light-filled and warm space, while the indoor greenery injected a calming atmosphere.

The new kitchen boasts a tiled-splash back, banquette seating and custom cabinetry. To maintain an inspiring but productive use of space, the reception counter and entry areas also included bespoke joinery and generously-sized workstations. Textural feature carpet and strategically spaced break out zones separated different areas, without impacting on the open-plan design.
