The Brief

Reimagining the Workspace

Urban Fitouts delivered a comprehensive commercial office refurbishment and furniture upgrade for Domino's, transforming approximately 2,528 sqm across two levels into a bold, contemporary workplace that celebrates the company's distinctive identity while enhancing functionality, collaboration and connection.

Previously occupying two and a half levels, the existing workplace presented an opportunity to reconsider how the tenancy was utilised. The project focused on consolidating operations across two floors, creating a more efficient and connected environment that accommodates increased workstation density while introducing a greater variety of collaborative and private working spaces.

A key priority was to establish a more centralised workplace, bringing staff and management closer together through the strategic relocation of enclosed offices, improved circulation and a considered balance of open-plan and enclosed environments. The refurbishment also incorporated the relocation and reuse of existing furniture, ensuring a practical approach to the transformation while complementing the updated interior.

The result is a dynamic and adaptable workplace that balances a strong visual identity with everyday functionality, providing employees with an environment designed to support collaboration, focused work and social interaction.

Design Direction

Warm and Contemporary Palette

Drawing inspiration from Domino's iconic branding, the design reinterprets the company's signature red and blue through a richer, more sophisticated palette of deep burgundy, midnight navy and warm timber finishes. These bold tones are complemented by textured surfaces, contrasting materials and playful geometric detailing, creating a cohesive interior that feels contemporary, engaging and distinctly connected to the brand.

A Welcoming First Impression

The revitalised front-of-house was designed to establish a strong first impression, introducing visitors to a contemporary workplace that reflects Domino's energetic identity through a more refined architectural expression.

The design takes inspiration from the company's recognisable branding, moving away from traditional bright primary colours in favour of deeper, richer tones. Burgundy and navy accents are balanced with warm timber finishes and considered material contrasts, establishing a sophisticated aesthetic that continues throughout the broader tenancy.

The updated reception creates a clear arrival point for visitors, while the adjoining meeting environments provide professional spaces for client interactions and internal discussions. Careful consideration was given to the relationship between the front-of-house and surrounding workplace, ensuring the entrance feels connected to the wider office while maintaining a distinct identity.

Through its bold material selections and contemporary detailing, the front-of-house sets the tone for the project, creating an engaging and memorable introduction to Domino's workplace.

Collaborative Spaces

Throughout the tenancy, purpose-built collaboration booths provide dedicated spaces for spontaneous discussions, small team meetings and informal interactions. These settings offer an alternative to traditional enclosed meeting rooms, encouraging employees to connect without disrupting the surrounding open-plan workplace.

Contemporary Finishes and Thoughtful Details

An important aspect of the refurbishment was introducing a diverse range of informal meeting and collaboration settings to support the evolving needs of Domino's team.

Curved burgundy partitions create a distinctive architectural feature, defining individual seating zones while introducing softness and movement to the interior. Integrated upholstered bench seating, circular ottomans and warm timber tabletops establish comfortable, functional settings, while contrasting circular carpet inlays visually anchor each booth within the broader floorplate.

The combination of rich burgundy upholstery, natural timber textures and geometric forms reinforces the project's contemporary design language, creating inviting destinations for collaboration throughout the office.

Together, the collaborative booths and enclosed focus areas provide a considered balance between interaction and privacy, supporting greater flexibility in how employees use the workplace throughout the day.

Focus Booths

Positioned alongside these shared settings, enclosed focus booths provide employees with additional privacy for phone calls, virtual meetings and concentrated individual tasks. Rich forest green and mustard yellow finishes introduce moments of colour and contrast, giving these compact spaces a distinct character while remaining connected to the overall design concept.

Kitchen & Breakout

A Flexible Social Hub

The upgraded kitchen and breakout facilities provide a central destination for staff to connect, recharge and gather throughout the working day.

Deep navy lower cabinetry, burgundy overhead joinery and crisp white benchtops create a striking contrast, complemented by streamlined detailing and practical integrated storage. The rich colour palette reinforces the broader design concept while delivering a functional, contemporary kitchen environment.

A More Connected Environment

The reconfiguration of Domino's office focused on creating a more efficient, centralised and adaptable workplace, making better use of the existing tenancy while supporting the operational needs of staff and management.

Previously distributed across two and a half levels, the workplace was consolidated into two floors through strategic space planning and the relocation of enclosed offices. This approach allowed the available floor area to be utilised more effectively, accommodating increased workstation density while improving connections between teams.

The updated layout establishes a clearer relationship between open-plan workstations, enclosed offices, meeting rooms and shared amenities. By bringing staff and management into a more centralised environment, the design supports easier communication and greater opportunities for everyday collaboration.

A combination of open workstations, informal meeting settings and private focus booths provides employees with a variety of environments suited to different working styles. This balance allows individuals to move between collaborative discussions and focused tasks, supporting a more flexible and responsive workplace.

The project also incorporated the relocation and integration of existing furniture, allowing functional pieces to be retained within the redesigned tenancy. This practical approach helped maximise the value of existing resources while ensuring the updated workspace maintained a cohesive and contemporary appearance.

Extensive custom locker joinery introduces additional personal storage, contributing to a more organised and efficient working environment. Natural oak-look finishes bring warmth and texture to the storage areas, while clean geometric lines and integrated detailing reinforce the broader architectural language.

Throughout the tenancy, rich navy and burgundy accents are balanced with warm timber finishes, neutral flooring and contrasting textures, creating continuity between individual work areas and shared spaces.

Through thoughtful planning, integrated storage and a diverse range of workplace settings, the refurbishment delivers a more connected environment that supports both individual productivity and team collaboration.
